Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Propulsion Engineering Manager – Level 2 to lead the Aerothermal analysis team at our Promontory or Bacchus campuses. You will supervise Thermal and CFD analysts, shape program priorities, and ensure rigorous technical execution in solid rocket motor design.

This 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off supports a demanding leadership role across programs, partnering with Engineers and Program Managers to deliver safe, high-performance propulsion solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related engineering with 8 years of experience or Master’s with 6 years.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance.
Experience with thermal and/or CFD analysis.
Design experience with solid rocket motors, igniters, nozzles, or thermal protection systems.
Proven ability to set priorities across multiple programs or projects.

Responsibilities

Lead Thermal and CFD analysts supporting solid rocket motor design, test, and fabrication.
Plan and manage work scope; coordinate tasks with Project Engineers and Program Managers.
Contribute technically with Aerothermal analysis and design tasks.
Drive staffing, onboarding, and workload balance across programs.
Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and feedback to team members.
Develop employee capabilities and training plans.
Maintain certification, design, and analysis standards for loaded motor design.
Ensure safety, performance, and quality of work products.
Collaborate with other engineering groups for integrated solutions.
