Job summary

Rocket Lab seeks a Propulsion Analyst Intern to join the Long Beach site for a 12-week on-site program. You will work with a fast-moving propulsion team to develop FEA and CFD models for Archimedes hardware, gaining hands-on experience while collaborating with mentors and cross-functional colleagues.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in engineering, physics, or math programs with at least 1 semester remaining. GPA 3.0+ required; Python, ANSYS, MATLAB, Siemens NX, and CAD/CAM experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s or doctorate degree program in an engineering, physics or math discipline and have at least one semester of school remaining post internship
• GPA of 3.0 or above
• 3+ months of applied engineering experience (internship, laboratory, and personal/team project experience is applicable)
• GPA of 3.5 or above is preferred
• 6+ months of applied engineering experience is nice to have

Responsibilities

• Support propulsion team in creating FEA/CFD models of new and updated designs
• Apply knowledge to solve real engineering challenges
• Collaborate across teams to deliver results
• Attend frequent 1:1’s with mentors and supervisors for progress updates
