Job summary

Rocket Lab USA seeks a Propulsion Design Intern in Long Beach, CA to assist with design and analysis of Archimedes engine components. You will work under supervision in a fast-paced propulsion team, applying undergraduate or graduate knowledge to real hardware development.

The role emphasizes collaboration, mentorship, and hands-on learning across engineering disciplines, with a path to contribute to next-generation propulsion systems and attend intern-focused events.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s or doctorate degree program in an Aerospace, Astronautical, Aeronautical or Mechanical engineering discipline with at least one semester remaining post internship.
• GPA 3.0 or above.
• 3+ months of applied engineering experience (internships, labs, or projects)

Responsibilities

• Assist with design and analysis of Archimedes engine components under mentorship.
• Collaborate across teams to apply engineering concepts to real challenges.
• Attend regular 1:1s with mentors and progress updates.
• Participate in technical talks and intern-networking events.
