Job summary

Rocket Lab USA in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Combustion Devices Intern to support design, test and analysis of combustion devices, GD&T drafting, and data processing. You will work under a mentor, contribute to engine testing, and gain hands-on experience across our propulsion programs.

The role requires enrolled undergrad/grad in engineering/physics/math with 3.0+ GPA, 3+ months of applied engineering experience, and at least 12 weeks on-site starting early 2027.

Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s or PhD program in engineering, physics or math and have at least one semester remaining after internship.
  • GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • 3+ months of applied engineering experience (internships, labs, projects) applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with a mentor and department to apply knowledge and grow technically and professionally.
  • Support a fast-paced group to apply engineering concepts to real challenges.
  • Attend frequent 1:1s with mentors to facilitate success and learning with progress updates.
  • Participate in tech talks and intern/employee networking events.
