Job summary

Find Great People | FGP is seeking a Proposal Manager to own complex, high-value pursuits from opportunity identification through contract award. This is a hybrid role based in Duncan, SC with relocation assistance possible.

You will partner with engineering, manufacturing, and finance teams to develop winning technical and commercial solutions, build pricing models, and lead negotiations to maximize margin.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with strong financial acumen.
• Proven experience in Proposal/ Bid management or equivalent roles.
• Experience with cost modeling and pricing analyses.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex customer proposals from RFP through contract award.
• Serve as the primary commercial contact during the process.
• Partner with engineering, manufacturing, procurement, supply chain, finance and leadership to develop winning solutions.
• Build pricing models and perform detailed cost, margin and risk analysis.
• Develop proposal strategies and executive review packages.
• Review specifications for technical and commercial compliance.
• Support contract negotiations and customer discussions.
• Manage multiple pursuits with schedule, quality, and accuracy, then hand off to project teams.

Our client, a leader in highly engineered transportation and industrial solutions, is seeking an experienced Proposal Manager to lead complex, high-value pursuits from opportunity identification through contract award.

This is not a proposal writing role.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys owning the entire bid process, partnering with technical and business teams, developing winning strategies, and driving commercial success in a manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do

• Lead and manage complex customer proposals from RFP through contract award
• Serve as the primary commercial contact during the proposal process
• Partner with engineering, manufacturing, procurement, supply chain, finance, and leadership teams to develop winning solutions
• Build pricing models and perform detailed cost, margin, and risk analysis
• Develop proposal strategies, financial justifications, and executive review packages
• Review customer specifications and ensure technical and commercial compliance
• Support contract negotiations and customer discussions
• Manage multiple pursuits while maintaining schedule, quality, and accuracy
• Coordinate seamless handoff to project teams following contract award

What We're Looking For

Required

• Bachelor's Degree
• 5+ years of experience in Proposal Management, Bid Management, Tender Management, Estimating, Applications Engineering, Commercial Project Management, or a similar role
• Experience within manufacturing, heavy industrial, transportation, engineered products, or related industries
• Strong financial analysis and pricing experience
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working with complex cost models
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

• Engineering degree or strong technical background
• Experience supporting customized engineered products
• Experience with large-scale RFPs, RFQs, tenders, or complex proposals
• Rail, transportation, industrial equipment, aerospace, automotive, or heavy manufacturing experience
