Job summary

Find Great People is seeking a Proposal Manager to own complex, high-value pursuits from opportunity identification through contract award in a manufacturing environment.

You will partner with engineering, finance, operations, and leadership to develop winning strategies, build pricing models, and ensure compliant, compelling proposals, with a hybrid onsite work arrangement in Duncan, SC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required; related field preferred.
• 5+ years in Proposal Management, Bid Management, Tender Management, Estimating, or Commercial Project Management.
• Experience in manufacturing, heavy industrial, transportation or engineered products.
• Strong financial analysis and pricing experience; advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage complex customer proposals from RFP through contract award.
• Serve as the primary commercial contact during the proposal process.
• Partner with engineering, manufacturing, procurement, supply chain, finance, and leadership to develop winning solutions.
• Build pricing models and perform detailed cost, margin, and risk analysis.
• Develop proposal strategies, financial justifications, and executive review packages.
• Review customer specifications for technical and commercial compliance.
• Support contract negotiations and customer discussions.
• Manage multiple pursuits with schedule, quality, and accuracy; hand off to project teams after award.

Our client, a leader in highly engineered transportation and industrial solutions, is seeking an experienced Proposal Manager to lead complex, high-value pursuits from opportunity identification through contract award.

This is not a proposal writing role.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys owning the entire bid process, partnering with technical and business teams, developing winning strategies, and driving commercial success in a manufacturing environment.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and manage complex customer proposals from RFP through contract award
• Serve as the primary commercial contact during the proposal process
• Partner with engineering, manufacturing, procurement, supply chain, finance, and leadership teams to develop winning solutions
• Build pricing models and perform detailed cost, margin, and risk analysis
• Develop proposal strategies, financial justifications, and executive review packages
• Review customer specifications and ensure technical and commercial compliance
• Support contract negotiations and customer discussions
• Manage multiple pursuits while maintaining schedule, quality, and accuracy
• Coordinate seamless handoff to project teams following contract award

What We’re Looking For

Required

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 5+ years of experience in Proposal Management, Bid Management, Tender Management, Estimating, Applications Engineering, Commercial Project Management, or a similar role
• Experience within manufacturing, heavy industrial, transportation, engineered products, or related industries
• Strong financial analysis and pricing experience
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working with complex cost models
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

• Engineering degree or strong technical background
• Experience supporting customized engineered products
• Experience with large-scale RFPs, RFQs, tenders, or complex proposals
• Rail, transportation, industrial equipment, aerospace, automotive, or heavy manufacturing experience
