Job summary

Find Great People | FGP is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager to lead supplier strategy and cost-reduction initiatives for complex manufactured products in a manufacturing environment. You will manage approximately $20M-$30M in annual spend and collaborate with engineering, operations, and quality teams to ensure high-quality, reliable supplier performance.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and manufacturing experience.
  • 5+ years of sourcing, procurement, commodity management, or supply chain experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience sourcing engineered, technical, or industrial products.
  • Proven success managing supplier relationships and sourcing projects.
  • Experience leading RFQs, evaluating supplier proposals, and making sourcing recommendations.
  • ERP system experience (SAP, Oracle, Syspro, JD Edwards, Infor, or similar).
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and spend analysis.

We're seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager to lead our client's sourcing initiatives, develop supplier strategies, drive cost reduction efforts, and manage key supplier relationships supporting complex manufactured products. This is a highly visible role that works closely with engineering, operations, quality, finance, and supply chain leadership to ensure suppliers deliver the quality, performance, and value our business requires.

This position offers the opportunity to manage approximately $20M-$30M in annual spend, influence sourcing decisions across multiple facilities, and play a direct role in supporting the development and production of sophisticated equipment used in demanding industrial environments.

What You'll Own
  • Manage approximately $20M-$30M in annual supplier spend across assigned commodities and suppliers
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies that support business objectives for cost, quality, and delivery
  • Lead RFQ activities, supplier evaluations, negotiations, and sourcing decisions
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while holding suppliers accountable for performance
  • Partner closely with engineering teams to support sourcing of technical and engineered products
  • Drive supplier cost-reduction initiatives and continuous improvement activities
  • Support supplier qualification, development, and performance management efforts
  • Evaluate supplier capabilities and identify opportunities to improve supply chain resiliency
  • Analyze spend data and supplier performance metrics to support strategic decision-making
  • Influence sourcing decisions across multiple manufacturing locations
What You'll Be Working With

This role supports a broad range of engineered products and components for maintenance of way and rail infrastructure equipment, including but not limited to:

  • Operator cabs
  • Engines and power systems
  • Electrical and electronic components
  • Complex assemblies
  • Fabricated and engineered products

Success in this position requires the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, understand technical requirements, and work with suppliers to develop practical sourcing solutions.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing
