Job summary

Starr Insurance is seeking a field-based risk control professional to conduct property loss inspections for process industries and commercial properties. You will review risks, assess sprinkler and fire alarm systems, and provide guidance to underwriting staff.

Travel up to 25% and a company car are provided. Responsibilities include desktop risk reviews, on-site surveys, and client presentations, with training provided.

Qualifications

• College graduate with Bachelors of Science in an engineering discipline, preferably fire protection.
• Understanding basics of sprinkler and fire alarm systems and loss prevention.
• Knowledge of loss prevention codes (NFPA, FM, API, ASME) is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Desktop risk review and project work (approx. 40%).
• On-site surveys and risk evaluation report writing for existing and prospective clients (40%).
• Underwriting/broker/team meetings (10%).
• General consulting and presentations (10%).
• Maintain inspection records and write survey reports.
