Job summary

The Scion Group is hiring a Porter/Gatekeeper to maintain the common areas of a residential property and assist with general maintenance tasks. You will perform cleaning, lawn care, lighting repairs, landscaping, and safety practices to ensure a clean, safe environment for residents and guests.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of grounds maintenance experience, plus a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school/GED or trade school diploma and one year of full-time experience in lawn/grounds maintenance or equivalent.
• Efficient in reading instructions and documenting labor and materials.
• Punctuality, dependability, and ability to work under deadlines; after-hours and weekend emergencies may occur.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the physical condition of the property per SOPs, OSHA, and industry standards.
• Perform physically demanding maintenance to preserve the asset and common areas.
• Remove trash and debris from common areas continuously.
• Sweep, rake, and remove debris from curbs, parking areas, walkways and stairways.
• Maintain and repair exterior lighting and report inventory as needed.
• Mow lawn areas, trim beds, and manage landscaping debris.
• Apply weed and feed and water areas as scheduled; assist with seasonal plantings.
• Trim and prune trees and shrubs as directed; maintain irrigation and fountains.
• Clean pool/spa per manufacturer specs; perform pool equipment maintenance.
• Know emergency procedures and operate shutoffs; ensure safety to residents and visitors.
• Keep drainage grates clear; pressure-wash surfaces as required.
• Assist in snow removal and participate in ongoing job training.
• Maintain professional appearance and uniform; contribute to a safe environment.
