Job summary

Slate Health Solutions in Chicago seeks an experienced Property Manager to oversee a portfolio of HUD-assisted and conventional apartment units. Ownership is open to full-time or part-time arrangements based on experience and availability.

The successful candidate will manage compliance, certifications, leasing, renewals, collections, and delinquency follow‑up; coordinate maintenance and vendors; conduct inspections; and maintain complete tenant files to support HUD and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience with HUD and affordable housing compliance.
• Experience with tenant certifications and annual recertifications.
• Leasing, renewals, collections, and delinquency follow-up.
• Managing maintenance requests and coordinating vendors.
• Property inspections and unit condition monitoring.
• Tenant communication and complaint resolution.
• Maintaining complete and organized tenant files.
• Preparing for HUD, MOR, REAC/NSPIRE inspections.
• Working with housing authorities and government agencies.
• Supervising maintenance and other property staff.
• Preparing reports for ownership and senior management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day property operations for HUD-assisted and conventional units.
• Coordinate leasing, renewals, and rent collection; follow up on delinquencies.
• Schedule and supervise maintenance and vendor activities.
• Prepare inspections and ensure compliance with REAC/NSPIRE standards.
• Generate reports for ownership and senior management.
