Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years as a Property Manager or Community Manager.
• LIHTC experience strongly preferred; TCS or similar certification preferred.

Habitat America is seeking an experienced and professional Tax Credit Property Manager to join our team for the Ellicott City, MD area. This full-time role is ideal for a motivated property management professional with a strong background in Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC). This position will over see approximately 70-90 TC multi family units.

The Community Manager serves as the face of the property, ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and outstanding resident service. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering an exceptional living experience for residents while maintaining strong financial and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of a tax credit community while ensuring compliance with all applicable housing regulations.
• Provide exceptional customer service to residents, prospects, and community partners.
• Manage leasing, occupancy, and resident relations to maintain a stable and thriving community.
• Review and analyze monthly operating statements, including budget-to-actual variances and cash flow performance.
• Prepare and submit accurate monthly financial reports and property performance reports in a timely manner.
• Ensure compliance with LIHTC, including resident income certifications and re-certifications.
• Maintain accurate resident files and documentation in accordance with agency requirements.
• Supervise property staff and ensure operational standards are met.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Property Manager or Community Manager.
• Tax Credit Specialist (TCS) or similar affordable housing certification strongly preferred.
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently while effectively following company policies and leadership direction.
• Experience with Yardi or similar property management software is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Experience reviewing financial reports and managing property budgets.
• Knowledge of resident income certification and recertification processes in accordance with regulatory requirements.
