Job summary

Essex Property Trust seeks a Maintenance Technician to perform routine and preventive maintenance across one or more properties in the San Jose/SFO area. You will handle HVAC, plumbing, electrical tasks, unit turns, and upkeep of common areas to sustain asset quality and resident satisfaction.

You must have a high school diploma or GED and at least two years of related experience; HVAC/CPO license is a plus. This is a full-time on-site role with on-call duties and occasional travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years in property management or related field.
• HVAC and/or CPO license preferred.
• Hands-on repair experience with electrical, plumbing and appliances.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on building systems and common areas, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical and appliances.
• Prepare vacant units for new residents, including painting and repairs to meet standards.
• Conduct inspections and follow a preventive maintenance schedule.
• Respond to emergency requests and be on-call as needed, including evenings and weekends.
