Essex Property Trust, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician II in the San Jose area to perform routine and preventive maintenance on essential building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and appliances.

You will repair interior and exterior features and respond promptly to resident work orders, ensuring units are ready for new residents. The role requires attention to safety, documentation of work orders, and on-site availability five days a week, with on-call duties as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 2+ years of property maintenance experience.
• HVAC and/or CPO certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and appliances.
• Repair and maintain interior and exterior property features such as doors, windows, walls, flooring, and fixtures.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from residents and document work orders.
• Prepare vacant units for incoming residents, including painting, cleaning, and repairs.
• Conduct regular property inspections to identify maintenance needs.
• Adhere to safety regulations and maintenance schedules.
• Be available for on-call duty and weekend coverage when required.
