Job summary

Greystar is seeking a Service Technician in Norfolk, VA to perform technical and mechanical work ensuring buildings meet safety, cleanliness, and functionality standards. You will handle work orders, perform preventative maintenance, and assist in making-ready processes for vacant units while maintaining grounds and amenities.

The role requires EPA Type 1/II or Universal refrigerant certifications, a valid driver's license, and flexibility for evenings/weekends.

Qualifications

• EPA certifications Type 1 and II or Universal for refrigerant recycling.

Responsibilities

• Completes assigned work orders from resident requests and preventative maintenance by diagnosing defects and making repairs.
• Completes the make-ready process for vacant apartments including pre-move-out inspections and punch lists, coordinating vendors and materials.
• Obtains materials and equipment, tracks inventory, and notifies supervisor when re-ordering is needed.
• Documents service requests timely and accurately for tracking and reporting.
• Assists in maintaining grounds, common areas, and amenities by cleaning, painting curbs/signage, and debris removal.
• Supports cost-control by repairing instead of replacing parts when feasible.
