Job summary

Greystar in Norfolk, VA seeks a Maintenance Technician to ensure the physical upkeep of buildings, grounds, and common areas. You will diagnose issues, perform repairs, and complete the make-ready process for new move-ins, while coordinating with vendors and maintaining inventory according to safety standards.

The role requires EPA Type 1/II or Universal refrigerant certifications, a valid driver’s license, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Diagnose source of defects and perform repairs per policies and codes.
• Perform make-ready tasks for vacants, prep units for leasing, coordinate with vendors as needed.
• Track inventory, access materials from maintenance, and notify supervisors when restocking is needed.

Responsibilities

• Complete work orders from residents and preventative maintenance.
• Prepare vacant apartments for leasing and conduct pre-move‑out inspections.
• Maintain grounds and common areas, assist in keeping the property clean and safe.
• Contribute to cost control by repairing rather than replacing parts when feasible.
• Document work performed accurately for service requests to be tracked.
