Job summary

Weidner Apartment Homes in Anchorage, AK is seeking a Service Technician2 to provide multi‑faceted maintenance for residents and the community. You will perform painting, drywall repairs, and repairs to building systems, both in vacant and occupied apartments, while delivering timely, quality service.

You will handle electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, carpentry, and flooring tasks, with strong time management and customer service.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of maintenance experience.
• HVAC, electrical, plumbing knowledge.
• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vacant apartments for occupancy, including painting, drywall repair, trash out, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical repairs.
• Independently perform system repairs on electrical, plumbing, hot water heaters, HVAC systems, appliances, and other building systems.
• Perform detailed work with carpentry, drywall repairs, and interior/exterior painting.
• Determine when full‑paint or touch‑up paint is needed and select correct paint sheen and color.
• Repair plank, vinyl, and carpet flooring.
• Respond to residents’ service requests daily and promptly with minimum supervision.
• Identify and perform preventive maintenance as assigned.
• Clean pools as directed, monitor chemical balance, and maintain logs per city ordinances when applicable.
• Perform daily grounds maintenance, including trash removal, pet waste disposal, sweeping walkways, and snow removal where applicable.
• Participate in property improvements and preventive maintenance scheduled tasks promptly.
• Utilize Weidner‑issued cell phone and specified apps as part of your daily role.
• Use personal vehicle to travel between properties during work hours.
• Participate in the on‑call rotation as scheduled.
• Assist any maintenance or service team as needed.
