Job summary

Valiant Residential is seeking an Assistant Maintenance to support the maintenance supervisor and uphold the physical integrity of our properties. You will collaborate with the leasing team to maximize renewals and leasing opportunities while prioritizing safety and compliance with Valiant Residential policies.

Qualifications

• Two years of full-time apartment maintenance experience or a related trade.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification is a plus.
• EPA refrigerant certification.
• Strong verbal and written English; bilingual in Spanish a plus.
• Own a basic set of hand tools and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Complete resident service requests within 24 hours.
• Manage system for handling service requests and on-call rotation.
• Ensure work follows company policies and applicable laws (ADA, Fair Housing, OSHA).
• Assist in distributing flyers and materials.
• Keep safety materials current and monitor property conditions; correct unsafe conditions.
• Maintain records of preventive maintenance and make-ready status of vacant units.
• Schedule and perform minor and routine maintenance on equipment; inspect tools.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, and related systems daily.
• Handle on-call duties and standby emergency coverage.
• Assist in inspections and other duties as assigned by management.
