Job summary

Apartment Management Consultants (AMC) is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead the maintenance team and ensure property upkeep for the community. The role involves overseeing daily tasks, interviewing and training staff, managing inventory, and enforcing safety policies.

The position requires knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems, strong communication, and supervisory experience. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Knowledge in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical.
• Self-motivated with attention to detail.
• Ability to operate various hand tools including power tools.
• Ability to maintain positive relationships with internal and external contacts.
• Effective communication skills.
• Property maintenance/handyman experience.
• Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform and schedule daily maintenance tasks including preparing vacant units for occupancy and preventative maintenance.
• Assist with interviewing, screening, and making recommendations for service, housekeeping/custodial, or grounds personnel with the manager.
• Assist in training of all service, housekeeping/custodial, or grounds personnel.
• Clean and maintain work areas, tools, and equipment.
• Take initiative to improve processes and maintenance methods.
• Maintain MSDS sheets and replacement logs.
• Hold the maintenance team accountable to attendance and performance.
• Schedule and assist in supervising and selecting vendor work.
• Manage inventory, ordering, and delivery of supplies for service, custodial and grounds teams.
• Ensure OSHA standards and safety policies are followed.
• Handle lock-outs from evictions and 24-hour service requests.
• Be available on an on-call basis.
• Report unusual or extraordinary circumstances regarding the property or residents.
• Remove snow and ice as necessary.
• Ensure necessary tools are on hand.
