Job summary

Apartment Management Consultants (AMC) is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead the maintenance team and ensure property upkeep, repairs, and safety compliance. The role involves scheduling tasks, training staff, overseeing vendors, and maintaining inventory under the community manager's direction.

The ideal candidate has knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems, strong communication, and prior supervisory experience. On-call availability and hands-on maintenance are required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems.
• Self-motivated with attention to detail.
• Ability to operate various hand tools including power tools.
• Ability to maintain positive relationships with internal and external contacts.
• Effective communication skills.
• Property maintenance/handyman experience.
• Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform and schedule daily maintenance tasks and prep vacant units.
• Assist in interviewing and hiring for service/housekeeping/grounds roles.
• Train service, housekeeping, and grounds staff.
• Maintain work areas, tools, and equipment.
• Improve maintenance processes and methods.
• Maintain safety logs and replacement inventories.
• Supervise vendor work and scheduling.
• Manage inventory and supplies under the community manager guidance.
• Ensure OSHA standards and company safety policies are followed.
• Respond to after-hours service requests and on-call duties.
• Report unusual or extraordinary property conditions.
• Remove snow and ice as necessary.
• Ensure necessary tools are on hand.
