Job summary

Greystar is seeking a Maintenance Technician to service and maintain interior and exterior community areas, including making-ready vacant units and standardizing cleanliness across grounds and facilities.

The role requires practical trade skills, tool use, and strong customer service. The incumbent will work with the Community Manager to manage supplies, safety, and routine preventative maintenance hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or related experience and training.
• Experience in property management maintenance or related trade.
• Provide own hand tools unless prohibited by State law; safe use of tools and equipment.
• Read, write, and communicate effectively to represent management and interact with residents.
• Proficiency with internet, word processing, spreadsheets, and database management; property management system experience preferred.
• Mathematical skills to handle financial, administrative, and legal documents.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose defects from resident service requests and perform repairs per policy and safety standards.
• Oversee and complete make-ready process for vacant units, inspect, schedule vendors, and finalize work.
• Develop cleanliness and appearance standards for grounds, exteriors, interiors, and common areas.
• Inspect work by team members and contractors; ensure quality and adherence to scope.
• Maintain inventory of spare parts and coordinate with Community Manager on supplies and budget.
• Complete monthly preventative maintenance and assist in budget development for repairs and capital projects.
• Support cost-cutting by fixing rather than replacing parts when feasible and using tools correctly.
• Conduct safety meetings, keep MSDS current, and stay compliant with OSHA and related laws.
