Job summary

Greystar is seeking a maintenance technician to uphold community standards, complete work orders, and manage make-ready tasks for vacant units. You will coordinate vendors, maintain tools and parts, and support budget efforts while ensuring safety and quality across indoors and outdoors.

Role requires hands-on maintenance experience, strong customer service, and the ability to communicate effectively with residents and coworkers in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or related experience.
• Experience in property management maintenance or related trade.
• Own hand tools unless prohibited by state law.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
• Proficiency with basic computer software and PM systems.

Responsibilities

• Assists and completes work orders from resident requests; diagnose and repair per policy and safety rules.
• Oversees make-ready process, pre-move-out, and coordinates vendors and materials.
• Develops standards for cleanliness and appearance of grounds, exteriors, and common areas.
• Inspects work by team members and contracts; takes corrective actions as needed.
• Maintains inventory of spare parts and tools; orders supplies as needed.
• Performs monthly preventative maintenance per policy manual.
• Assists Community Manager with budget for repairs and capital projects.
• Supports cost-control by repairing rather than replacing when feasible.
• Conducts safety meetings; keeps MSDS and OSHA requirements up to date.
• Provides courteous, responsive service to residents and team members.
