Job summary

Greystar is seeking a Maintenance Technician to oversee and perform technical and mechanical work ensuring community buildings, grounds, and amenities meet Greystar standards for cleanliness, safety, and functionality.

You will handle resident service requests, manage make-ready workflows for vacant units, and uphold high quality in common areas. The role requires tools, safety awareness, and strong customer service, with opportunities for growth within Greystar’s property management platform.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or related experience.
• Experience in property management maintenance or related trade.
• Own hand tools unless prohibited by State law and must be skilled in safe use of hand tools, power tools, measuring devices.
• Ability to apply logical thinking to define and correct problems.
• Proficiency in customer service and interpersonal communication to interact with residents and team members.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively to represent management and answer questions.
• Proficiency in internet, word processing, spreadsheet, and database management; property management system experience preferred.
• Mathematical skills to handle financial, administrative, and legal documents.

Responsibilities

• Assists and completes work orders from resident requests and routine upkeep by diagnosing defects and repairing per policies.
• Oversees and completes the make-ready process for vacant units, schedules vendors, and inspects completed work.
• Develops standards for cleanliness and appearance of grounds, buildings, and common areas to reflect Greystar quality.
• Inspects work by team members to assess policy effectiveness and take corrective action.
• Inspects contractors and vendors to verify quality and compliance.
• Maintains inventory of spare parts and assists with budgeted supplies.
• Completes monthly preventative maintenance procedures as outlined in policy.
• Assists in budgeting for regular repairs and capital projects.
• Supports cost-control by repairing instead of replacing where feasible.
• Conducts safety meetings and ensures MSDS and OSHA compliance.
• Delivers customer service with residents and staff in a timely, respectful manner.
