Job summary

Valiant Residential is seeking an Assistant Maintenance to support the maintenance supervisor and ensure the property's physical integrity. Responsibilities include handling resident service requests within 24 hours, performing routine maintenance, and upholding safety and policy standards.

The role requires at least two years of maintenance experience, a high school diploma, EPA certification, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Two years of full-time apartment maintenance experience or related trade.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification is a plus.
• EPA refrigerant certification required (refrigerant, transition, and recovery).
• Strong English communication; bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
• Own a basic set of hand tools.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record; ability to travel within metro areas.
• Willingness to work weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Complete resident service requests within 24 hours.
• Manage system for handling resident service requests and on-call rotation.
• Adhere to company policies and applicable laws (ADA, Fair Housing, OSHA).
• Distribute flyers and materials as needed.
• Keep safety materials current and identify/correct unsafe conditions.
• Maintain records of preventive maintenance and make-ready status.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspect equipment daily.
• Handle on-call duties and standby coverage for evenings/weekends/holidays.
• Assist property manager with inspections and other duties as assigned.
