Job summary

The Scion Group LLC is seeking a Porter/Gatekeeper at our San Marcos property to maintain common areas indoors and outdoors. You will support general upkeep, assist with maintenance, and ensure a clean, safe living environment for residents in a collegiate setting.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or trade training, be able to lift up to 100 lbs, possess a valid driver’s license, and be willing to be on-call for after-hours needs. This on-site role emphasizes reliability and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school/GED or trade school diploma and one year of lawn/grounds experience.
• Efficient at reading instructions and documenting labor and materials.
• Punctual and dependable with deadlines and after-hours needs.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Able to stand 8 hours and lift up to 100 lbs; on-site location.
• On-call capacity, except during PTO.

Responsibilities

• Maintain property per SOPs, OSHA and industry standards.
• Perform physically demanding maintenance to minimize liability.
• Remove trash and debris from common areas regularly.
• Sweep and clear debris from curbs, parking areas, walkways and stairs.
• Maintain and repair stair treads and exterior lighting.
• Mow lawns, trim beds, rake leaves and manage debris.
• Water, seed and weed lawns; plant seasonal additions as needed.
• Repair irrigation and fountain systems; ensure code compliance.
• Know emergency procedures and valve/fuse panel locations.
• Promote safety to protect residents and visitors; keep grills clear.
