Job summary

American Family Insurance in Minnesota seeks an experienced property claims adjuster to investigate and manage claims from initial report through resolution. You will determine liability, gather and evaluate information, review coverage, and negotiate settlements.

For candidates without a strong claims background, an Associate Adjuster level hourly position is available to develop foundational experience. Relocation support is offered for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Experience providing customer-driven solutions.
• Experience handling 1st and 3rd party, multi-line claims across territories.
• Experience handling moderately complex claims.
• Solid knowledge of casualty policies and endorsements.
• Understanding of the claim handling process.

Responsibilities

• Investigates origin and cause of claims by contacting insureds, claimants, and other parties.
• Identifies complex issues and seeks assistance as needed; handles claims in good faith.
• Handles 1st party claims under multiple policy types and endorsements.
• Evaluates damages and negotiates with insureds, claimants, and attorneys.
• Responds to inquiries, makes decisions, and closes files as needed.
• Interprets policies and applies coverages to assigned losses.
• Provides updates to all parties and participates in projects as needed.
