Job summary

Novo is seeking a detail-oriented Property Accountant to manage financial reporting for a portfolio of residential and commercial properties. You will ensure accurate records, timely month-end close, and GAAP compliance while partnering with Property Managers and corporate leadership.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field, 2+ years of accounting experience (real estate preferred), and strong Excel and Yardi skills.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate or property management.
• At least 2 years of Yardi experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements and complete month-end close.
• Reconcile bank accounts, general ledger, and balance sheet accounts.
• Record journal entries and maintain accurate financial records.
• Analyze financial results and investigate variances.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and audit activities.
• Collaborate with Property Managers to ensure financial accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls.

The ideal candidate will ensure accurate financial records, timely month-end close, and compliance with accounting standards while partnering closely with Property Managers and corporate leadership.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate or property management.
• At least 2 years of Yardi experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
• Experience with month-end close and account reconciliations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP.
