Job summary

Addison Group seeks a Property Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting and monthly close for a portfolio of properties. This role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a multi-entity environment.

You will record journal entries, perform reconciliations, track tenant receivables, prepare reporting packages, and support lender requests and audits. Prior experience with Yardi is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of accounting experience, with at least 1 year in real estate or property accounting.
• Hands-on experience with Yardi or similar property management software.
• Strong Excel skills and comfort working with financial schedules and reconciliations.
• Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple properties and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly close activities for assigned properties, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
• Record journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments within the general ledger.
• Track tenant receivables and maintain accurate AR balances.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Complete bank reconciliations and monitor property cash activity.
• Process property-level accounts payable, including vendor setup and invoice entry.
• Record monthly accruals with proper documentation.
• Assemble monthly financial reporting packages and perform preliminary variance analysis.
• Support lender reporting requests and year-end audit preparation.
