Universe Living in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Property Accountant to support the Accounting Department and ensure GAAP-compliant financial data. The role offers growth as our portfolio and lines of business expand, reporting on cash flow and balance sheet activity.

Responsibilities include bank reconciliations, loan draws, monthly closes, AP/AR entries, and preparing lender reports, with a focus on accuracy and improving operational efficiency.

Formación

• Property management knowledge strongly preferred.
• Education in accounting highly preferred.
• 2+ years of experience with Yardi Voyager.
• Self-starter capable of solving problems with minimal supervision.
• Intermediate MS Office skills.

• Performs analysis of balance sheet and P & L accounts and record appropriate adjusting journal entries as needed.
• Track and calculate loan payments and balances for inter-company loans.
• Provide financials for lender reporting.
• Issue partnership distributions.
• Help to continuously improve the company's efficiency.
• Ad hoc projects as needed.
• Manage monthly, quarterly and year end closing processes, including reconciliations and analysis of related accounts.

Under the direction of the Controller, the Property Accountant is responsible for supporting the Accounting Department with producing accurate financial data in compliance with organization standards, regulatory agencies, and following General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) standards. Due to continued growth, we are looking for a skilled Property Accountant to manage our day-to-day accounting. This position has the ability to grow as we expand our portfolio and business lines.

Primary responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

• Bank reconciliations
• Reporting on cash flow and vacancy
• Preparing construction loan draw requests
• AP and AR entry at the beginning/end of the month
