Kit Carson Electric Cooperative Inc. is hiring a Customer Service Representative – Propane to serve as the main contact for customers in our propane office.

You will assist with applications, process orders, answer billing questions, and manage payments while ensuring timely, professional service. This role requires a High School Diploma, 21+ years old, LP09 certification within 90 days, and strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 21 years of age or older required.
• LP09 cylinder certification within 90 days of employment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Patience, attentiveness, empathy, and professionalism when working with customers.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and time-management skills.
• Ability to balance walk-in customers, calls, and emails.
• Lift up to 50 lbs regularly; outdoors on cylinder dock in various weather.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for walk-in customers and calls.
• Assist propane applications and intake process.
• Process propane orders and determine customer fuel needs.
• Explain Will Call and Autofill billing procedures.
• Respond to questions, requests, and appointments.
• Manage customer service email inbox.
• Communicate information to field staff and management.
• Handle payments by cash, check, or card; operate POS.
• Cash drawer counts and reconciliation.
• Operate cylinder filling and safety procedures.
• Inspect and requalify outdated cylinders; maintain dock cleanliness.
• Perform data entry and filing; handle general records.
• Escalate complex concerns to General Manager.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
