Job summary

Indiana Department Of Transportation in Scottsburg is seeking a supervisory Construction Technician to oversee INDOT and contractor crews. You will ensure safety, quality, and timely completion of projects while coordinating field testing and documentation.

A valid driver''s license is required; CDL Class A or B may be needed within 90 days. CTHTP or related experience is highly preferred for this role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or HSE with 4+ years in a similar role.
• Valid driver''s license; CDL Class A or B may be required within the first 90 days of employment.
• Experience supervising construction technicians and coordinating field staff.
• Ability to read and interpret highway and bridge plans and specifications.
• Knowledge of INDOT Construction principles; CTHTP preferred or equivalent training.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe work practices for INDOT and contractor personnel.
• Supervise assigned INDOT construction technicians.
• Ensure projects follow plans, specs, and contract requirements on time and budget.
• Perform sampling and testing of construction materials or coordinate technicians.
• Attend status meetings and provide project updates.
• Review contractor drawings and schedules; prepare inspection reports.
