Job summary

Renewable Energy Systems Ltd in the United States seeks a Project Safety Manager I to implement the RES System (SMS) on wind, solar, substation, transmission, or energy storage projects in the US or Canada.

You will promote a safety culture, lead incident investigations, coordinate with regulatory agencies, and develop site safety plans. Travel 76–100% is required; strong OSHA knowledge and safety leadership are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school/GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in safety or related field and 2 years of construction safety management on utility-scale projects; or 5+ years with OSHA 500 or equivalent.
• OSHA 30 Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Promotes safety culture through coaching, development, influence and training.
• Acts as SME and liaison for health and safety for project team and client.
• Leads safety-related discussions in meetings (POD, All Hands, Tailgate, Staff, Client/Owner).
• Develops and maintains site-specific documentation (Site Safety Plan, Site Rules, Emergency Response Plan, JHA).
• Oversees Permit to Work processes and safety training.
• Drives corrective actions and documents root causes from incident investigations.
• Maintains safety metrics and prepares incident reports.
• Facilitates audits and inspections by third parties and regulators.
• Monitors weather conditions and manages severe weather response.
• Assists HSQE in Safety Alerts and incident awareness.
