Job summary

RES is hiring a Project Safety Manager I to implement the Safety Management System across wind, solar, substation, transmission, and energy storage projects in the US or Canada. You will promote safety culture, coach teams, and act as SME for health and safety while liaising with regulators and clients.

The role requires extensive safety experience in construction, OSHA 30, and willingness to travel 76–100%. Strong documentation, training, and leadership skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires 3+ years Construction Industry Safety experience; 5+ years preferred.
• OSHA 30 Certification required; others preferred (CHST/CUSP/OHST/NCSO, CSP/ASP/GSP/SMP/CRSP/CHSC).
• Domestic and international travel 76-100% required.

Responsibilities

• Promotes company safety culture through coaching, development, influence, and training.
• Acts as subject matter expert and liaison for health and safety for the project team and client.
• Serves as a key liaison to regulatory agencies and third parties during audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
• Oversees Permit to Work processes and ensures compliance with SMS requirements.
• Delivers training on Safety Initiatives, Site Orientation, Work Instructions, and regulatory requirements.
• Leads safety-related discussions at various project meetings and safety reviews.
• Develops and maintains site-specific documentation (JHA, Site Safety Plan, Site Rules, Emergency Response Plan).
• Conducts incident investigations to determine root cause and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintains incident data and safety metrics to compile reports and drive continuous improvement.
