Job summary

RES is seeking a Project Safety Manager I to implement the SMS (Safety Management System) on wind, solar, substation, transmission, or energy storage projects in the US or Canada. The role emphasizes coaching, training, and leading safety initiatives across site teams.

Responsibilities include incident investigations, risk assessments, and regulatory liaison, with extensive travel (76-100%). The ideal candidate holds a safety degree and OSHA certifications and will drive safety improvements on

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety or related field with 2+ years of utility-scale safety management.
• OSHA 30 Certification is required; OSHA 500 preferred.
• Domestic and international travel 76-100% may be required.
• Valid driver's license required for site access and travel.

Responsibilities

• Promotes safety culture through coaching, development, influence, and training.
• Acts as SME and liaison for health and safety for the project team and client.
• Leads safety discussions in POD, All Hands, Tailgate, and client meetings.
• Oversees Permit to Work processes and PPE management on the project.
• Conducts incident investigations, develops reports, and drives corrective actions to completion.
• Maintains safety metrics and coordinates emergency response efforts.
• Facilitates safety audits/inspections by third parties and regulators.
