Job summary

United Mechanical is seeking a Project Manager to oversee HVAC and plumbing projects, lead cross-functional teams, and drive project profitability. The role entails managing scope, schedules, and budgets while supporting sales efforts with estimates, proposals, and negotiations.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in project management within HVAC/plumbing, with a bachelor's in engineering or construction mgmt. MBA or PE are a plus; strong client and vendor relationships are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in managing HVAC or plumbing construction projects.
• Experience in estimating, design, and management of projects from $50k to $25M.
• BS in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management preferred but not required.
• MBA or PE license are notable bonuses.

Job description

The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for sales and management of projects in addition to assigned projects and supporting assigned projects.The PM will also provide project leadership in a collaborative manner and is the single source of responsibility to United Mechanical and the customer.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of projects and their scope.
• Responsible for the execution of trade work.
• Provide leadership and coordination of all United Mechanical departmental efforts, including Engineering, Purchasing, Accounting, Construction, and Service during project construction in a timely manner.
• Perform all functions required to promote and finalize sales, including estimating, conceptual design, proposal writing, presentations, and contract negotiations and review.
• Prepare budget projections and control costs within agreed-upon limits.
• Provide letters, proposals, memos, contracts, change orders, strategies, etc. for good business procedures and legal protection.
• Ensure the project meets its schedule and project profitability goals.
• Maintain strong relationships with all clients, vendors, subcontractors, and the industry.

Required Skills/Abilities and Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience managing HVAC and/or Plumbing construction projects or years of experience in estimating, design, and management of projects from $50,000 to $25+ million.
• BS in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management preferred but not required.
• MBA or master’s level educational degree and/or a current licensed PE are notable and a strong plus.
• Strong interpersonal and project management abilities, employing strong organizational skills to respond successfully to a high volume of issues.
