Job summary

The JOY FM is seeking a Project Manager Mechanical (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing) to lead a portfolio of mechanical construction projects in the Orlando area. You will manage relationships with general contractors and subs, schedule all activities, and ensure delivery on-time and within budget.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of PM experience in mechanical solutions for commercial construction, deep HVAC knowledge including chillers, and the ability to read blueprints and cost estimates.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or college degree in mechanical engineering (preferred).
• Minimum 10 years trade-related experience.
• 5+ years of project management experience delivering mechanical solutions in commercial construction.
• Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical HVAC systems including chilled water.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and specifications.
• Basic knowledge of construction accounting practices.
• Ability to construct complete cost estimates on projects.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage a portfolio of general contractor and subcontractor relationships.

• Identify, procure and manage equipment and materials.
• Schedule and manage field manpower and allocate resources.
• Organize and direct project planning and progress meetings.
• Participate in pre-construction bid activities as required.

Key Responsibilities of the Project Manager (Mechanical) include: Developing and managing a portfolio of general contractor and subcontractor relationships Scheduling and managing all project-related activities to deliver projects on-time and on-budget Identifying, negotiating and procuring all necessary job-related equipment and material Scheduling and managing all projected-related field manpower personnel Organizing and directing all project planning and progress meetings with construction group management team as required Participating in pre-construction bid activities as required Interfacing with local building authorities and enforcing contract terms and conditions as required Embracing ongoing training and development to ensure the highest standards of professionalism, project management effectiveness, technical competence and industry knowledge Providing consistent leadership, a positive attitude, and unwavering commitment to teamwork and world-class customer service in the delivery of all construction group projects

Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will have: High School Diploma, G.E.D., or College degree in Mechanical Engineering (Preferred) Minimum of 10 years trade-related experience 5+ years of project management experience delivering mechanical solutions and installations in commercial construction environments with a proven track record of delivering superior performance results Comprehensive working knowledge of mechanical HVAC systems (design, operation, etc.) to include chilled water systems In-depth ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and specifications Basic knowledge of industry standard construction accounting practices Ability to construct complete cost estimates on projects The ability to work independently and as part of a team Understanding of HVAC value engineering concepts and applications Outstanding verbal and written communication skills Must have a valid driver's license
