Job summary

GH Engage is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee commercial HVAC and plumbing projects from preconstruction through final completion. You will take ownership of project performance, including budgets, schedules, field labor, procurement, subcontractors and client communication.

This role suits someone who understands mechanical construction, can manage competing priorities, and is accountable for successful delivery while building long-term client relationships.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of construction project management experience.
• Experience with mechanical contractors, especially commercial HVAC or plumbing.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, job costing, forecasting and cost control.
• Experience managing field labor, subcontractors, vendors, and material procurement.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, specifications, contracts, and project schedules.
• Understanding of construction safety, quality-control procedures and codes.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent mechanical construction experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial mechanical projects through planning, construction, commissioning and closeout.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget and to the required quality standards.
• Review contracts, estimates, drawings and specifications to establish project scope and execution plans.
• Oversee the installation of HVAC, plumbing and associated mechanical systems.
• Create and maintain job-cost structures covering labor, materials, equipment and subcontractors.
• Monitor project financials, forecasts, productivity and cost-to-complete reporting.
• Manage procurement and negotiate purchase orders with vendors and subcontractors.
• Review submittals, RFIs, change orders and project documentation.
• Coordinate closely with superintendents, foremen, field teams and internal departments.
• Lead regular project meetings and provide clear progress updates to senior management.
• Identify project risks and resolve scheduling, cost or operational issues before they affect delivery.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, owners, subcontractors and vendors.
• Support the performance and development of field personnel.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure company and project-specific procedures are followed.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of construction project management experience
• Previous experience with a mechanical contractor, particularly within commercial HVAC or plumbing construction
• Strong knowledge of project budgeting, job costing, forecasting and cost control
• Experience managing field labor, subcontractors, vendors and material procurement
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, contracts and project schedules
• Understanding of construction safety, quality-control procedures and applicable codes
• Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline is preferred; equivalent mechanical construction experience will also be considered
