Job summary

Woodlake Outdoor is seeking a Project Manager to act as the main liaison between landscape construction customers and our operations and management teams. You will monitor job sites, communicate timelines and budgets, and resolve issues to keep projects on track.

This full-time role includes bonus potential and a company vehicle. You will lead crews, manage contracts, and coordinate transitions to the Maintenance team, fostering strong client relationships and field excellence.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years' commercial landscape construction experience with large contracts.
  • Experience managing project timelines, schedules, materials and crews is essential.
  • Strong communication skills with an ability to easily build rapport and long-term relationships.
  • Bachelor's degree in horticulture or related program (Business, Construction, etc) is a plus.
  • Valid Driver's License with clean driving record and ability to pass pre-employment background and drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, train and develop managers, crew leaders and/or team members in work responsibilities to ensure company policies and standards are met
  • Manage multiple annual landscape construction or stone masonry contracts by proactively building relationships with clients, ensuring quality work is performed, deadlines are met and financial targets are achieved
  • Ensure responsible customer turnover to our maintenance team on landscape installation projects
  • Able to identify and solicit new customer prospects; estimate and sell new work per annual goal
  • Ensures that all customer requests, problems and/or questions are answered and/or resolved
  • Complete orders for job materials, ensures work is scheduled and completed on time and in budget, and performs follow up with customers
  • Forecast hours, sales and financials (weekly/monthly/annual) and manage accruals with accuracy

Job description

Woodlake Outdoor is searching for a Project Manager to serve as a liaison between our landscape construction customers, operations/contractor teams and management teams. This position will be the main point of contact for our customers, will routinely check job sites, communicate about project timelines, budgets and progress, and work to resolve any problems quickly. The Project Manager will work to convert construction contracts to maintenance work and facilitate a seamless transition to the Maintenance team.

This is a Full-time, benefit eligible position. In addition to receiving base pay and bonus potential, this role qualifies for a company vehicle.   • Must be able to assess quality of stone masonry/landscape installation work, ensure plant and material viability after installation, manage irrigation and all other subcontractors (concrete, irrigation, piers, iron work, masons)
  • Comfortable using computers and other forms of technology is needed
  • Ability to meet and/or exceed sales goals
  • Irrigation and/or Chemical Applicator licenses are a plus
  • Shares in company values and can demonstrate those in the field
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
  • This job operates in an outdoor setting 60%-70% of the time, assessing quality, training, meeting customers, identifying/estimating work orders, evaluating work in progress, sourcing stone and/or plant material, assessing teams and efficiency. Must be able to drive to 1 or more job locations and job sites daily.
  • The remaining work time involves indoor office work - must be able to operate a computer and office equipment and may sit for extended periods of time.
  • This role routinely uses landscaping tools and equipment and drives a company vehicle (truck/trailer).
  • This employee will have to work odd or long hours at any-time to complete special request for projects. The ability to lift 40 lbs., tolerate heat and cold extremes, and walk 3-4 miles on job sites is required.
