Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, landscape architecture, horticulture, or related field.
  • 5–10+ years of progressive construction management experience on large commercial landscape/site development projects.
  • Valid California driver's license with ability to travel to local job sites.

As a Landscape Construction Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in bringing complex projects to life from initial concept through final completion.

As a Landscape Construction Sr. Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in bringing complex projects to life from initial concept through final completion. This is an opportunity to lead high-impact, large-scale commercial developments while working alongside a team that values expertise, accountability, and results. Leveraging your strong field experience and leadership, you will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality all while fostering trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders. In this role, you will manage large-scale site developments valued from $1M to $5M+, ensuring they are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest industry standards. You will serve as the primary point of contact for general contractors, landscape architects, and municipal inspectors while leading field superintendents and crews.

Requirements
Responsibilities:
  • Understand and uncover customer’s “points of pain” and develop solutions
  • Build and maintain trust‑based professional relationships with Clients, Employees and Subcontractors
  • Work in a fast‑paced environment and operate with a high sense of urgency
  • Responsible for working well with the operations team members, leveraging their expertise with yours
  • Responsible for the construction team
  • Ensure that all construction services are delivered according to contract specifications, on budget, schedule and with a high standard of quality
  • Manage cost reports, analyzing budget variances, recommend and develop strategies to lower project costs; reviewing labor quantities and phases to facilitate accurate project tracking
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly job billings
  • Prepare change orders as necessary and obtain the required documentation from the client to bill in a timely manor
  • Serve as the main point of contact and trusted advisor to customer on project installation issues
  • Gather and analyze customer needs and interests; building strong business relationships and providing solutions to challenges
  • Provide customers with clear and easy to understand information pertaining to all of our high‑quality products and services
  • Deliver timely and accurate reports, financials, schedules and budgets on a regular basis
  • Inspect all field work; analyze and resolve problems
  • Manage labor force & subcontractors to ensure labor budgets are on track
  • Maintain accurate daily and weekly Foremen and Superintendent activity logs, updating production tracking reports and generating other related reports as needed
  • Oversee the dispatching of labor and equipment to job sites
  • Manage equipment utilization on projects, equipment storage and maintenance
  • Ensure that all construction services are delivered according to contract specifications & drawings, are within budget and on schedule
  • Represent the company, interfacing and build relationships with owners, clients, architects, general contractors and subcontractors
  • Ensure that employees are both results oriented and operating as a team
  • Prepare and participate in Quarterly or Monthly WIP process.
Other skills needed:
  • Proficiency with computer software programs including MS Office suite (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Strong project scheduling and coordination skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment
  • Experience in construction management and project management
  • Ability to read blueprints and manage constructions sites effectively

  • Standing periodically throughout the day

  • Auditory, able to hear and speak on the phone as required to meet job expectations
  • Able to drive to jobsites and work outdoors
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Landscape Architecture, Horticulture or a related field.
  • 5-10+ years of progressive construction management experience handling large‑scale commercial landscape and site development projects valued over $1 million from inception to completion
  • Deep understanding of commercial irrigation systems, large‑scale planting, hardscape, grading, and drainage
  • Valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record for frequent travel to local jobsites.
