Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a seasoned Construction Project Manager in Sioux Falls, SD to lead the full lifecycle of complex construction projects. You will coordinate engineers, field teams, vendors, and customers to deliver on time and within budget.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, building science or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a construction project manager or equivalent field in construction management.
  • 8+ years of equivalent experience.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
  • Ability to manage a team of employees and multiple projects.
  • Experience compiling and following strict budgets.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Accurate and precise attention to detail.
  • Goal-oriented and organized leadership.

  • In-depth understanding of the construction industry.

  • Detention equipment knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the entire life cycle of construction projects.
  • Coordinate with project engineers, field resources, material vendors, subcontractors, customers, field operations, and project superintendents.
  • Plan, prioritize, and schedule construction tasks and manpower.
  • Maintain job records and files, including job costing, billing information, schedules of values, and change orders.
  • Coordinate material and equipment deliveries.
  • Report project progress and status.
  • Identify, log, price, manage, and process change orders through customer approval and contract modification.
  • Coordinate accepted schedule changes with contract management, scheduling, procurement, and project engineering.
  • Review and re-execute start-up procedures as applicable.
  • Conduct project kickoff meetings and review contract documents and field binders.
  • Conduct site visits to assure site readiness and resolve coordination issues before project start.
  • Coordinate with the Project Superintendent to meet profitability targets, including field overtime as needed.
  • Communicate with field management through daily field reports and other documentation.
  • Review field supply needs.
  • Review timesheets and expense reports weekly for accuracy and timely submission.
  • Review project costs monthly for accurate and timely accounting.
  • Obtain substantial completion dates for warranties.
  • Create Cornerstone warranties from standard forms.
  • Identify and ensure timely execution and submission of waivers and affidavits.
  • Deliver projects within time, budget, quality, documentation, reporting, coordination, and customer satisfaction standards
