Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an experienced construction engineering professional to plan, coordinate, and manage onsite Water/Wastewater projects, leading multidisciplinary teams and ensuring schedule adherence using Primavera P6.

Responsibilities include developing procedures, handling submittals/RFIs/payments, and representing the company in client and project-management meetings. PE registration is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent training.
• 5+ years of construction engineering experience.
• Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, and standards.

• Plan, develop, coordinate, and manage onsite construction engineering activities for Water/Wastewater projects.
• Manage project engineering and personnel functions, including planning and disciplinary actions.
• Ensure activities comply with requirements and support the construction schedule using Primavera P6.
• Provide technical support for planning, design interpretation, and constructability reviews.
• Develop and administer project engineering procedures and documents (submittals, RFIs, payments).
• Represent the company in meetings with A/E, clients, and project management.
• Interface with onsite departments to resolve problems and ensure quality.
• Oversee pre-construction, design-build services, and business development.
• Perform additional assignments as directed.

Job description

• Plan, develop, coordinate, and manage onsite construction engineering activities for Water/Wastewater projects
• Manage project engineering and related personnel functions and activities, including personnel planning, administration, work assignments, and disciplinary actions
• Ensure project engineering activities comply with company and contract requirements and support the overall construction schedule using Primavera P6
• Provide technical support for construction planning and design, design interpretation, construction methods, design conflict resolution and documentation, and constructability reviews
• Develop, implement, and administer project engineering procedures and work controlling documents, including submittals, RFIs, material delivery expediting, subcontractor/vendor payments, and owner pay requests
• Represent the company, project, and/or department in A/E, client, and project management meetings
• Interface with onsite departments to resolve problems and ensure construction quality in support of the project schedule
• Oversee pre-construction services, design-build services, and project business development
• Perform additional assignments as directed by the supervisor

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred or equivalent technical training and related experience
• 5+ years of similar construction engineering experience
• Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, and standards
• In-depth understanding of the interdependence and relationship between functional units
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage a team of varied disciplines
• Bridge experience is a strong plus
• Registration as a Professional Engineer preferred but not required
