The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) is led by Secretary Janet Stanek, who was appointed by Gov. Kelly in Dec 2021. KDHE is comprised of three divisions: Public Health, Environment, and Health Care Finance (which includes the State’s Medicaid program, KanCare). We are the only agency in the nation to have these three entities under one roof which allows us to take a holistic approach to improving and protecting the health and well‑being of all Kansans.

Position Summary: The Project Manager position (K0221842) is responsible for developing and maintaining project charters, project plans, communication plans, and schedules; Coordinate project team meetings and working sessions; Track milestones, dependencies, critical path items, and deadlines; Identify resource constraints; Coordinate with management to resolve conflicts; Maintain project risk, issue, action, and decision logs; Proactively identify risks and develop mitigation strategies; Escalate critical risks and issues; Provide timely and accurate project status reporting; Coordinate decision‑making and ensure documentation of key decisions; Coordinate transition to operational support teams; Facilitate lessons learned and project close out activities.
