Franklin Fitch seeks an experienced LMS Migration Project Manager to lead a major Learning Management System transformation at a Boston-based college. You will own the migration programme from planning through implementation, coordinating technology teams, academic stakeholders, vendors and university leadership to ensure a successful transition to the new LMS.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience delivering LMS implementation or migration projects.
  • Strong technical project management experience in higher education.
  • Experience with Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, D2L Brightspace.
  • Knowledge of LMS data migration, integrations, testing, and validation.
  • Excellent stakeholder, vendor management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to end LMS migration project, including planning, delivery, testing and go-live.
  • Develop project plans, milestones, dependencies, budgets and delivery timelines.
  • Coordinate migration of courses, users, learning content, assessments and associated data.
  • Work closely with IT, academic technology teams, faculty, administrators and external vendors.
  • Manage data mapping, migration, testing and validation activities.
  • Own project risks, issues, dependencies and mitigation plans.
  • Coordinate UAT, training, communications and change management ahead of launch.
  • Lead cutover and go-live planning, ensuring appropriate support is in place.
  • Provide regular project reporting to senior university stakeholders.

Rate: $80-$95/hour, depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced LMS Migration Project Manager to lead a major Learning Management System transformation within a leading Boston-based college.

You will take ownership of the migration programme from planning through to implementation, coordinating technology teams, academic stakeholders, vendors and university leadership to ensure a successful transition to the new LMS.

This is a highly visible project requiring strong project management, stakeholder engagement and change-management skills, combined with a good understanding of LMS platforms, data migration and higher education environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the end-to end LMS migration project, including planning, delivery, testing and go-live.
  • Develop project plans, milestones, dependencies, budgets and delivery timelines.
  • Coordinate migration of courses, users, learning content, assessments and associated data.
  • Work closely with IT, academic technology teams, faculty, administrators and external vendors.

What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience managing LMS implementation or migration projects.
  • Strong technical project management experience, ideally within higher education.
  • Experience with platforms such as Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, D2L Brightspace or similar.
  • Understanding of LMS data migration, integrations, testing and validation.
  • Strong stakeholder and vendor management skills.
  • Experience managing complex projects with multiple technical and business stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing change, training, UAT and go-live activities.
