Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Project Operations Accountant to provide accounting, analysis, and financial support across multiple project teams. This role serves as the key liaison between Finance and the project team, handling cost allocations, billings, and payroll-related reporting.

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, at least 3 years of construction accounting experience, and strong Excel/ERP skills (Textura, Oracle).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business administration or relevant years of experience in project accounting.
• Detail orientation and organizational skills sufficient to support multiple concurrent projects.
• Construction-related business exposure helpful; especially knowledge of percentage of completion accounting and construction contracts.
• Minimum of 3 years accounting experience, preferably with construction accounting.
• Experience supporting many team members.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP accounting applications like Textura and Oracle.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to be highly organized.

Responsibilities

• Review contract requirements, allocate budgets, assist with payroll reporting and insurance.
• Process receivables and billings to support project cash flow and timely payments.
• Process payables, vendor setup, subcontracts, and cost processing for project costs.
• Conduct project cost analyses and reporting, assist with monthly projections.
• Report labor costs, track hours, review certified payroll for accuracy.
• Assist project auditors and support annual inventories.
