Job summary

Abbott Construction in Seattle is seeking a Project Engineer to support the Project Manager and Superintendent across all project phases. The role includes handling submittals, RFIs, change orders, budgeting in Viewpoint, and coordinating planning and scheduling to meet deadlines.

Ideal candidates have a four-year construction degree, can pass a drug test, and show motivation for a long-term career in construction. A target bonus may apply; comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Strong negotiation and leadership skills.
• Understanding of accounting, financial statements, job cost and cash flow.
• Must pass a drug test.
• Four-year degree in a construction-related major.

Responsibilities

• Manage the submittal process.
• Manage the RFI process.
• Manage the change order proposal process.
• Provide research, backup support, legwork and data entry as needed by PM/Supt.
• Complete budget revisions in Viewpoint as required.
• Support safety aligned with Abbott's values.
• Coordinate planning, scheduling and project coordination to meet deadlines.
• Assist estimating by soliciting subcontractors and distributing plans.
• Serve as main contact for subcontractors as requested by PM.
• Possibly act as Project Manager when PM unavailable.
