Job summary

Abbott Construction is seeking a Project Engineer to support the Project Manager and Superintendent through all project phases. You will oversee submittals, RFIs, change orders, budgeting in Viewpoint, and safety alignment with Abbott's values.

You will coordinate planning, scheduling, and coordination efforts, solicit subcontractors, and act as main contact for vendors; when required you may serve as Project Manager in their absence.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in a construction related major is required.
• 2 years' project engineering experience preferred.
• Must be able to pass a drug test.
• Healthcare construction experience and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment are a plus.
• Strong focus on following processes, ownership of role, and communicating difficult news when required.

Responsibilities

• Manage submittal process
• Manage RFI process
• Manage change order proposals
• Provide research, backup support, legwork, and data entry for PM and Supt
• Complete budget revisions in Viewpoint
• Support safety initiatives aligned with company values
• Coordinate planning, scheduling, and project coordination to meet deadlines
• Solicit subcontractors and distribute plans to assist estimating
• Be the main point of contact for subcontractors
• Act as Project Manager when needed
