Job summary

DPR Construction in Durham, NC seeks a Construction Project Engineer to support Self-Perform Work (SPW) on complex projects. You will apply knowledge of project activities, schedules and quality standards to keep SPW scopes progressing safely and efficiently.

Collaborating with SPW crews, project management, subcontractors, and stakeholders, you will monitor progress, track material usage, and document field changes while contributing to continuous improvement of SPW processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in construction engineering or project engineering.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification preferred; completion within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Review contract drawings, specifications, and submittals for SPW scopes.
• Collaborate with SPW project managers, superintendents, and teams to resolve technical questions.
• Monitor SPW activity schedules and budgets; track labor productivity and report variances.
• Support standard SPW quality assurance and safety protocols.
• Prepare and maintain SPW documentation and field change records.
• Identify opportunities for incremental SPW process improvements.
• Participate in SPW coordination meetings and communicate progress to stakeholders.
