Job summary
Southland Industries is seeking a Project Engineer to support the project team on smaller, less complex projects. This role focuses on evaluating project changes, tracking change orders, and procuring equipment and services for jobs.
Candidates should have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, basic ERP skills, and familiarity with HVAC or plumbing design. Proficiency reading mechanical drawings and basic CAD/Excel skills are expected.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent
- Basic ERP skills to include inquiring, reviewing and printing job cost reports
- Basic knowledge of HVAC or plumbing design
- Ability to read mechanical and plumbing drawings
- Basic verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills, including CADD and Microsoft Office, such as Excel
Responsibilities
- Estimates the impact of project changes and provides information to applicable management.
- Manages change orders. Ensures they are completed accurately and tracked as required.
- Procures equipment and materials and services; and participates in the selection and hiring of subcontractors.
- Stays current on emerging trends.
- Analyzes and resolves basic questions and problems as needed.
