Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a project support engineer to assist the project team on smaller, less complex projects. You will help estimate impacts of changes, manage change orders, and support procurement of equipment and subcontractors while staying current on industry trends.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Engineering or equivalent, has basic ERP skills to print job cost reports, understands HVAC or plumbing design, and can read mechanical and plumbing drawings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent education, training and experience.
• Basic ERP skills to include inquiring, reviewing and printing job cost reports.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC or plumbing design.
• Ability to read mechanical and plumbing drawings.
• Basic verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills, including CADD and Microsoft Office, such as Excel.

Responsibilities

• Estimates the impact of project changes and provides information to applicable management.
• Manages change orders. Ensures they are completed accurately and tracked as required.
• Procures equipment and materials and services; and participates in the selection and hiring of subcontractors.
• Stays current on emerging trends.
• Analyzes and resolves basic questions and problems as needed.
