Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a project support professional to assist a project manager or managers in coordinating smaller, less complex projects. You will help manage engineering, labor, equipment, materials, tools, and subcontracted services to keep projects on schedule.

The role emphasizes basic knowledge of building systems, ERP capabilities, and reading design drawings, with a focus on clear communication and organization.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in related field, or applicable experience.
• Up to 3 years’ experience.
• Basic knowledge of building systems such as HVAC, lighting, controls, generation, and water systems.
• Basic ERP skills to include inquiring, reviewing and printing job cost reports.
• Ability to read design drawings and keep track of work progress.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Intermediate computer skills, Microsoft Office Products, such as Excel and Microsoft Projects.

Responsibilities

• Maximize project team’s effectiveness by providing basic project support to senior management.
• Supports the project construction team as needed.
• Estimates the impact of project changes.
• Manages change orders.
• Assembles submittal packages and other required project documentation.
• Assists with procurement of equipment, materials, subcontractors, and other project related services.
• Analyzes and resolves basic construction related questions and issues.
