Job summary

Helix Electric offers an internship program where students gain hands-on experience across construction phases with strong mentorship. Interns work on meaningful responsibilities and learn through a structured mentor program to grow well beyond graduation.

As an intern, you will support project managers, engage with field staff and vendors, and learn coordination with BIM to contribute to project success and Helix’s safety culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree program in CM/EE/CE/architectural engineering or related field.
• Previous construction or internship experience preferred.
• Highly motivated with initiative.
• Basic math skills and data analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Good organizational skills.
• Ability to work with all levels of the organization.
• Mindset for continuous improvements of department processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop relationships with project managers, subcontractors, engineers, and vendors.
• Collaborate with superintendent to track material and coordinate with vendors.
• Champion Helix safety culture on jobsites.
• Engage in Change Order process and assist with estimating in Accubid.
• Partner with project team to understand subcontract agreements and pricing.
• Involved with material and equipment procurement.
• Collaborate with BIM department on planning and coordination.
• Produce and maintain detailed job logs (transmittals, submittals, RFIs).
